IMPORTANT
INFORMATION FOR THOSE WORKING HOUSE DUTIES
----------------------------------------------------
* EVERYONE working house duties must come to the theatre at least 1 hour
before the performance. It's a lot of work to set up and we need your help.
FOR FRIDAY (OPENING NIGHT), PLEASE COME AT LEAST 90 MINUTES EARLY TO HELP
WITH SET UP.
* Everyone working the front of the house (concessions, flowers, telegrams,
ushers) please wear black bottoms and white shirt. Concessions are sold
outside so dress appropriately.
* Everyone working the back of the house (chaperones, stage crew) please
wear all black.
* You're expected to work the entire performance - before the show, during
intermission, and for a short time after the audience departs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
----------------
CONCESSIONS – Before: Set up tables, arrange food, ice beverages.
Intermission: Refresh food and beverages, sell concessions. After: Sell
concessions for 20 minutes. Help clean up and store concession supplies.
FLOWERS/TELEGRAMS/RAFFLE – Before: Prepare (set up your table, tie
cards/ribbons on flowers) and sell Flowers, Telegrams and Raffle tickets.
During: Sell items. After: Clean up and store Flowers, Telegrams, & Raffle.
USHERS – YOU MAY BE REASSIGNED if they need additional concessions or flower
folks. Head usher will assign you to a strategic seat during the
performance. Before: direct audience to seats; distribute programs. Handle
any noise disturbance issues in theatre. During: 2 ushers to help sell
concessions during intermission; other ushers stand by door to prevent
patrons from taking food into the theatre. After: Go through the theater to
pick up trash and recycle programs.
WILL CALL – Before: Distribute pre-paid tickets before performances. Try to
get patrons to sign up for the mailing list. During: Help sell concessions.
After: Help sell concessions and clean up/store concession supplies.
CHAPERONES – Supervise cast in Green Room/wings as they wait to go onstage.
Help cast members with costumes. Supervise the clean up of Greenroom.
LISTED BELOW IS THE NAMES of the folks working house duties for each show.
Stage Crew: I believe you all know the shows you are working... If you don't
please ask Valerie or Leslie for the most up-to-date list. WEAR ALL BLACK
for the shows.
PLEASE show up ready to work for all the times listed below. DON'T ASK ME
TO SWITCH YOUR DAYS, I can't handle the stress:)
Tech Week Notes

Here are my Tech Week notes from the Parent Meeting with some additional information.

Wendi
-begins Saturday,
November 1st
- NO ABSENCES are allowed (if your child is sick or a family emergency occurs
please let me know ASAP (678-5560)!)
What to pack for
your cast member each night of tech week and for the shows
- get your cast member a "laundry basket" to keep items
- label the basket and all costume pieces, snacks, water etc! EVERYTHING!!!!
-it's a good idea to create a checklist of everything that should go in the
basket to look at before leaving your house everyday and before leaving the
theater every night
- snacks should be simple- nothing orange and nothing that may stain -WATER
ONLY!!
- an old t-shirt or robe is good to bring to put over the costume if you need
to eat
- bring a quiet activity (coloring, x-word puzzles, etc)
Theater Rules (these
rules are for the safety of your cast member)
- NO family/friends allowed backstage, on stage,in pit or green room
- Chaperones will assist the children with his/her stuff and meet parents in
the hall after the show.
- Food is not allowed in theater so, during tech week try to feed your child
before call time (if they have to have a snack they will need to eat outside
and not in costume)
Call Time
- your cast member needs to be in his/her seat ready to go at call time (this
means in costume ready to work - cast members will not have additional time
to get ready)
-call times for each night will be emailed out soon
Monday- main costume ( if you have it- or any pieces you have)
Tuesday - full costume ( you should have all of it)
Wednesday- hair, make up and costumes
Thursday -hair, make up and costumes
Closed Tech Week
- Please wait in the lobby for your cast member
- cast members will be dismissed to the lobby ONLY
- call Wendi (678-5560) 15 to 20 minutes before announced dismissal to see if
we are running late
- I will update my message for an accurate release time
Tech Week-
-if you need to get in touch with your child/or an adult during rehearsal call
my cell (I doesn't always answer calls but will check messages frequently)
Costumes /Shoes
- all cast members need black jazz shoes
- Once you are given your costume, you are responsible for it
- There are NO extra costume pieces to replace lost items.
- Label every piece!
- DO NOT WASH THE COSTUME - Febreeze works well!
- stage make - up is needed (boys too! )
- basic foundation, blush, eyeliner
Show Hours - House
Duties
- please wear a white top w/ black bottoms
- if you didn't sign up for your 4 shows, please do so this week asap!
- you need to arrive 60 minutes prior to the show and stay after the show to
help with clean up
Stage Crew
- If you'd like to sign up for stage crew we are asking that you crew 4 shows
AND attend at least 3 of the tech week nights
-MUST wear all black- shoes too!
Chaperones
-must wear all black, too - including black shoes
- need to arrive 60 minutes prior to the show and stay after the show to assist
the children and help with clean up
