Note: We will not perform the evening of Saturday, April 19 in observance of Passover. Instead, we will be adding a performance (for schools) on Friday, April 18th at 10 am so that the cast will still have 7 performances in which to grow and learn. We expect the entire cast to perform every performance.

Ugly duckling Serena runs away from her rustic barnyard to pursue her dreams in New Duck City. Her adventures with a bunch of zany characters, including Prince Drake, Galinda ("the most fashionable Goose in the City") and Wolf, a talent agent and reformed meat-eater (or is he?), take her from high-fashion runways to perilous performing opportunities. Even the happy ending is not exactly by the storybook.

FACTS TO CONSIDER:
RICK REYNOLDS was one of the musical directors for the World Premiere of LUCKY DUCK under its original title EVERYTHING'S DUCKY at TheaterWorks in 2000. Rick has enthusiastically sold this show as being perfect for our program, participants and audience! (Rick's cool - he loves great, groovy music!)
HENRY KREIGER also wrote DREAMGIRLS and SIDE SHOW
HAROLD WHEELER, who orchestrated the piece, is currently the Musical Director of DANCING WITH THE STARS. He was the original orchestrator for "The Wiz", "Hairspray", "SideShow", and "DreamGirls"... Musicians love playing his scores, which include lots of jazz and blues.

Check out the music and what the author has to say about the piece (official website)

Please be aware as you sniff through the site that, as with many of our productions, we know there will have to be some crafty ways around some of the material to ensure it is "family friendly".
